KAPES, established in 2012 as a joint venture between Korea Electric Power Corporation (KEPCO) and GE (former Alstom),
is Korea’s first company specialized in HVDC and FACTS EPCM (Engineering, Procurement, Construction, Management).
Under the Joint Venture Agreement between KEPCO and GE, we have acquired advanced HVDC technology from GE and
continued to strengthen our foundation as a leading HVDC-specialized company through implementing new construction projects, refurbishment projects for inefficient old facilities, and maintenance projects in Korea.

Now, with full confidence in our successful track record, we, KAPES, would like to pursue fundamental changes corresponding
to domestic and international business environment and its mid- and long-term prospect while staying true to the basics.

Given the nature of KAPES’s domestic projects which are mostly linked to the national power resource development plans,
timely completion as per the project schedule is KAPES’s most important mission and accordingly, we will do our best
to meet customer’s needs and complete every project on time through exerting our full competence.

Furthermore, in light of the mid- and long-term expansion prospect of the global HVDC market and for the sake of venturing
into international market which can be said to be a KAPES’s contemporary mission, we will make organized efforts to acquire VSC technology at the earliest while trying to more deeply internalize LCC technology we already acquired.

To charge ahead without hesitation, it must be backed up by solid management. Reflecting on the rapid journey since establishment, we will address our strengths and weaknesses and transform into a robust organization where achieving
results and improving efficiency become commonplace.
